And in other news: I read this morning that Ottawa has decide to prevent banks from marketing insurance online.

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/ottawa-scuttles-online-insurance-marketing-by-banks/article1315956/

Is this really necessary? Consumers are getting more savvy and informed with most of them going online to get information. If I can get a deal for having my banking and insurance from one bank, so be it. I believe that Canadians are smart enough to know if they are getting their insurance from a company that is associated with a bank or not. Doesn't Finance Minister Jim Flaherty have better things to do with his time, like the economy?

I am waiting for the first fines to come from the FTC and who they will pick to "set an example" to the industry. I really hope it isn't Mr. T and the FlavorWave Oven. If the FTC does go after Mr. T, I hope they take "pity" on him and just give a warning.

Sorry for hijacking your comment section but when I posted about this on my blog Tarun pointed out to me that the servers that host my blog are anyway in the US. Never even thought about it myself! Always thought of myself as 100% Indian blogger.
